The underlying molecular mechanisms of mesothelioma
LOCATION: Ospedale San Raffaele di Milano (San Raffaele Hospital of Milan)
Main Contact: Prof. Marco Emilio Bianchi
SHORT DESCRIPTION: The main purpose of this project is to use new, broad spectrum analysis technologies (known as omics) to develop a detailed characterization of the molecular mechanisms that drive the molecular biology of pleural mesothelioma (exome analysis, miRNA, RNA seq). Organoids are miniature tissues that resemble the architecture and growth patterns of their real counterparts. One of the objectives of this study is to establish a collection of mesothelioma organoids.
